VerveCards was born January 16, 2008. The birth was quick and painless. Nancy was wrapping up a disappointing hunt for a belated birthday ecard. "This one doesn't totally suck," she muttered, as she pressed SEND on a cartoon snail trailing a "Sorry I'm Late" banner. But she'd compromised and was mortified to be sending something so lame. The search had been arduous, and the outcome was a bust -- Nancy saw a need.
So, she dialed up cousin Leigh, a talented graphic designer and mother of two young tykes -- "Wanna start an ecard company?" "Yeah, sure," yawned Leigh, groggy from a power nap with her daughter, hardly realizing the serious venture she would suddenly be a part of. VerveCards was born!
They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and VerveCards is living proof. VerveCards was created as a quick, inexpensive, secure, and green way for friends and family to communicate and celebrate -- without sacrificing quality. With these priorities in mind, here's what to expect from VerveCards.com:
Wry Humor. A cheeseball-free zone -- we promise! Snappy Graphics. No rainbows or butterflies -- ever! Speedy Format. No slo-mo links or teddy bear polkas to snooze through! Savings. No paper cards, stamps or trips to the post office! Efficiency. A year's worth of ecards scheduled in a flash! Security. No virus risks with our unique linkless format! Eco-friendliness. No trees will fall at the hands of VerveCards!
Nancy Rielle -- VerveCards CEO/Co-Founder, a former artist/painter, consultant, copywriter, curator, PR account exec and sales rep. (The non-linear one!)
Leigh Copin -- VerveCards Co-Founder, a former graphic/web designer and entrepreneur. (The streamlined one!)
Kudos to our ace design team of Angela Parrotta, Lisa Oliver and Jennifer DeAngelis, who took the Verve vision and ran with it. Graphic design goddesses ... mouse wielding super heroes -- we're lucky to have them!
